Introducing the UNIVERSAL PRO 4×4 Chassis — Available in Four Wheelbase Options
We’re excited to announce the release of our new Universal PRO 4×4 Chassis, available in four wheelbase configurations: 104”, 115”, 117.5″, and 127”. Designed specifically for body swap applications, this chassis is a versatile solution for builders and custom vehicle enthusiasts.
Due to high demand, we’re currently developing chassis solutions for other off-catalog vehicles. However, if you’re eager to begin your project or working with a vehicle not yet supported, the UNIVERSAL PRO 4×4 Chassis is the ideal foundation. Engineered without pre-installed body mounts, this chassis allows for maximum flexibility, giving you the freedom to custom fabricate and adapt it to your specific body swap needs.
Putting 50 years of design and engineering expertise to work, we begin with 10 laser cut frame pieces of U.S. derived .134w steel. The frame rails are unique from anything we have previously built. Knowing that the transfer case would inhabit the same space as our traditional center section we came up with a new way to increase strength. What we ended up with was a Triple Rail Frame rail that we call #BoxedBeam. Essentially, there are 3 vertical frame pieces in each rail (outer, inner and down the middle). Each piece of the frame rail is fixture welded with the outside edges being ground smooth. The frame rails are then placed into a chassis fixture where we add front and rear crossmembers and completely new design center section to work around the driver-side output transfer case. Our engineers widened the front portion of rails and narrowed the rear portion. This allows more room for headers and components, up front. While outback, this allowed us to mount the shocks outside the frame rails which maximizes roll stiffness and still have plenty of room for 37″x12″ tires. The center section and driveshaft loop is comprised of 4 pieces of 1”x2” .120w rectangle tubing & 4 large .1875″ gusset plates adding even more rigidity. Center section design allows for 3” round tube exhaust to fit with room to spare. The chassis is built around late model LS/LT engine/trans platforms using a driver-side output Atlas Transfer Case. Other drivetrain combinations can be utilized with custom mounts.
This is the most well thought out & executed 4×4 Chassis available today.
We relied on the experts at RockJock to provide not only the most durable but also readily available replacement steering components. The included Borgeson steering box is a direct replacement for 1966-1977 Broncos. RockJock High Steer Forged knuckles, Forged Outer Tie Rods, and unit-bearing hubs are all based on the Jeep JL (2018-present) platform (5×5″ Bolt Pattern). Crucial steering angles and tie rod lengths were carefully engineered to minimize bump steer and lateral movement. Common 5×5 bolt pattern hubs offer many popular wheel choices. Up to 37” tall tires fit while maintaining full turning radius, travel and articulation.
Working closely with Currie Enterprises & RockJock our engineers have designed front and rear 4-Link suspensions that are not only strong but multi-functional. Maximized length link bars provide minimal wheelbase change throughout travel and have the added benefit of limiting roll steer. Coil-over angle has been kept close to vertical to keep motion ratio close to 1:1 while keeping the mounts as wide as possible for maximum roll control. That means this new chassis will be just as capable off road as it is on road. With the Fox adjustable coil-overs your ride comfort can be tailored to your exact driving style. Whether you’re cruising down the highway, flying across the desert or crawling up the mountainside we have you covered.
Front and Rear 4-links with uneven length 2”x.250w tubing link bars utilizing 1.25” shank RockJock Johnny Joints. Front wheel travel = 12″ Rear wheel travel = 12″ Fully adjustable Fox 2.5”x12” Performance Series remote reservoir coil-overs mounted directly to the axle at all 4 corners. Fox 2.0” Race Series bump stops allow additional tuning capabilities and provide safety when bottoming. RockJock Antirock adjustable anti-sway bars front and rear.
Borgeson supplied 1966-1977 Bronco steering box. RockJock supplied High Steer Jeep JL Forged knuckles & outer Tie Rods provide strength and excellent turning radius. Custom Panhard bar with maximized length to control lateral movement. Fox supplied steering stabilizer provides proper off-road steering control.
