We are proud to offer frames and complete chassis for the popular 1928–1931 Ford Model A Cars and Trucks with Dropped Axle and 4‑Link Rear Chassis options. The Model A Dropped Axle features main rails made from U.S.-sourced 2 x 4 x .125w rectangular steel. This construction increases rigidity while maintaining the original profile. We offer chassis setups for cruising, auto‑crossing, drag racing, fully polished show‑stoppers, and everything in between. Additionally, we provide a wide variety of options that allow you to custom‑tailor a chassis to meet your specific needs.
The Dropped Axle front suspension delivers a classic look along with enhanced drivability and ease of use. We incorporate the latest design and manufacturing innovations to preserve a traditional appearance while improving comfort and safety. We fixture‑weld the tube axle using only U.S.-made steel, and we fixture‑weld the link bars using Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings with lubrication valleys. Big Bore calipers clamp onto large 10.5” rotors, and we install fitted kingpins and fully packed front bearings using hi‑temp grease. SoCal Speed Shop supplies the front shocks and shock mounts.
The 4‑Link Rear Suspension creates a lowered stance for superior handling by reducing the center of gravity. A smooth ride, improved handling, minimal weight, and greater axle control are only the beginning. Adjustable 4‑Link bars allow precise tuning of wheelbase and pinion angle, eliminate wheel hop, and increase axle control. Height‑adjustable coilovers and multiple mounting positions provide numerous options for achieving your desired ride height. Energy Suspension supplies the polyurethane bushings with lubrication valleys, along with their patented poly lube.
