Introducing:

TCI Engineering’s 1969-1972 K5 Blazer Pro1 4×4 Chassis

TCI Engineering is proud to release our new 1969-1972 K5 Blazer Pro1 4×4 chassis. This new 4×4 K5 Blazer chassis is designed to be a direct replacement for the original chassis. All cab, floor, core support, engine, transmission, and bumper bracketry are included. This new 4×4 K5 Blazer Chassis is built using our new Triple Wall Frame Rails aka #BoxedBeam. Not only are the frame rails boxed but we also added a 3rd vertical wall down the middle of the frame rails providing additional torsional rigidity. We also widened the front half of the frame to provide additional steering and header clearance. The chassis design is built around late model LS/LT engine/trans platforms using a driver-side output Atlas Transfer Case.

We relied on the experts at RockJock to provide not only the most durable but also readily available replacement steering components. The included Borgeson steering box is a direct replacement for 1966-1977 Broncos. RockJock High Steer Forged knuckles, Forged Outer Tie Rods, and unit-bearing hubs are all based on the Jeep JL (2018-present) platform. Fox supplied steering stabilizer provides proper off-road steering control. Crucial steering angles & custom extended length Panhard bar were carefully engineered to minimize bump steer and lateral movement. Common 5×5 bolt pattern hubs offer many popular wheel choices. Up to 37” tall tires fit while maintaining full turning radius, travel and articulation.

Working closely with Currie Enterprises & RockJock our engineers have designed front and rear 4-Link suspensions that are not only strong but multi-functional. Maximized length link bars provide minimal wheelbase change throughout travel and have the added benefit of limiting roll steer. Coil-over angle has been kept close to vertical to keep motion ratio close to 1:1 while keeping the mounts as wide as possible for maximum roll control. That means this new chassis will be just as capable off road as it is on road. With the Fox adjustable coil-overs your ride comfort can be tailored to your exact driving style. Whether you’re cruising down the highway, flying across the desert or crawling up the mountainside we have you covered.

Currie high pinion 44 (Front) & Currie high pinion 60 (Rear) complete axles come standard. The Currie 44 High Pinion front axle uses 3” O/Dx.5” wall DOM axle tubes, 4340 Chromoly 30 spline inner & 32 spline outer axles. The Currie 60 High Pinion rear axle uses 3.5” O/Dx.375” wall DOM axle tubes, 4340 Chromoly 35 spline axles, 1350 pinion yoke and skid plate. The custom Currie housings are designed to provide superior bearing lubrication for sustained highway miles or steep inclines and anywhere in between. Standard equipment includes 4.56 gears, Tru-Trac Posi, 68” Wheel Mounting Surface width, and 1350 Yokes. Full Floater rears, Lockers, and your choice of gears are optional.

Frame rails are cut from 10 gauge plate steel & seam welded to ensure consistent thickness throughout. An additional, 3rd vertical plate #boxedbeam is added down the middle to add torsional rigidity. All frame rails are fixture welded to ensure consistent fitment on every chassis we build. Over 120 feet of weld bead is laid down on each individual chassis. Before the frame rails are placed in the chassis fixture all 4 weld edges are carefully ground and smoothed. Any deviations in weld height found during this process require the frame rail to go back to the welding station.

TCI 4x4 Blazer chassis

Every chassis we build is fixture welded. This isn’t just a chassis table with the frame rails strapped down. This is a sophisticated vehicle specific fixture where the frame rails are fully captured from front to back. There is no cutting corners during this process. Our tight tolerances front to back ensure the tub, core support, and even the bumpers bolt on without drama.
